I read somewhere that the studio Morgan Creek insisted on tacking on an exorcism scene at the end as they thought it would increase ticket sales. As far as I know that wasnt in the script till shooting began.Didnt know there was a book TBH...

I saw the film in the theater years and yeara ago, and let me just say this---I'm not for "jump" scares but everyone in the audience just about vaulted out of their seats. No kidding.What was the original ending supposed to be like? More akin to the book?

at first i thougt it was a joke (a guy inside a blanket...clasic home made ghost) but the music really freaked me out.

One of the best shocks Ive seen in cinema. The film is my fave out of the trilogy...its just a shame the studio tacked on that rubbish ending...

I was a kid when I first watched this movie and I rememeber that my sister had to sleep together in the same bed for many days after it as we were scared to death... But the most frightening part for me was the popping up of the Christ's face. Now, as I still like to torture myself with this horror movies scenes, I'm going to find it in you tube :-p
