Actually, because the show wanted to appeal to the parents more, Dick Clark would make his guest mime to recorded songs because they thought that LIVE performances were too wild! If you were a guest on the show you weren't allowed to wear blue jeans and such, skirts and suits usually. Interesante!

i dont think there is any footage of cliff he didn't stay too long..he only played on about 32 odd songs with gene..shame because he was the sound that made everything explode
