ItalianQue saw this whole fight live. Back when major title fights still came on regular T.V. It was a hot night, must have been like 85 degrees outside and inside the house was even hotter (before central air yall). It was action packed...I was rooting for Norton because I hated Holmes.RESPONSE: I hated Holmes for years and I was rooting for Kenny too but as the years have passed I have to admit Larry Holmes was a great fighter. Took me a long time to come to that conclusion. So I hear ya.

Ken Norton was an excellent fighter and his defense was one of the best. He fought them all. Except Joe Frazier! That would have been a great fight to watch! Frazier Vs Norton!

Larry had a great jab, but a lot of people overlook the fact he had a hell of a chin too.

Larry's jab was smoother and harder hitting. He was exeptional using it as a counter punch. You are right, Ali's was faster and he used it as you describe, however, i don't believe it opened up things quite as much as larry's did.Larry's jab also hurt like hell

Ali's was faster and he could throw it going backwards,to his left,to his right,etc.Holmes jab worked best when his opponents were standing right in front of him.

Larry had the best jab out of all the heavyweights. His jab is a thing of beauty.
