"The Hebrew word for circle is chuwg which is also translated circuit, or compass (depending on the context). That is, it indicates something spherical, rounded, or arched—not something that is flat or square"And any of those translation mean spherical how?The word chuwg is always used to describe a circle. The word duwr is the Hebrew word for sphere. It is used elsewhere in the Bible.Where did you get the idea that a flat object needs to be square?

The Hebrew word for circle is chuwg which is also translated circuit, or compass (depending on the context). Yeah well they had a word for sphere which was used a few verses earlier. If they meant ball they would have said it. Fricking idiots!!!

The point I was making is that that scripture showed that the earth was round long before Aristotle came up with the idea. ---And another thing, even the Muslims diss the Bible for being a flat Earth book, the Quaran is more accurate, its like a melding of the Bible and known science, very ingenious but still a myth ;)

The point I was making is that that scripture showed that the earth was round long before Aristotle came up with the idea. ---Errr because Aristotle never came up with the idea idiot, he proved it, the spherical Earth was a Greek concept in 600 BCE, so unless Aristotle was 300 years old, well you get the picture ;)

so the bible people said the earth is round....they also state in other sections that it has "4 corners"....whatever. They were ancient people lucky to know their ass from a hole in the ground.

The word translated circle here is the "Since when is a circle the same thing as a sphere?"The Hebrew word for circle is chuwg which is also translated circuit, or compass (depending on the context). That is, it indicates something spherical, rounded, or arched—not something that is flat or square.

well, if you get on a high enough mountain you can see the Earth is round. It's really a no-brainer. Doesn't exactly make the bible into a science book, now does it?

The Bible states that Egypt would be desolate for 40 years during biblical times.Never happened.

I'm still waiting for some archeological proof that scripture is not accurate"Exodus. Written hundreds of years after the fact.Impossible on so many levels.First - there weren't even 600.000 plus usraelites alive at the time of the Exodus. There is no sign that large of a number was ever enslaved in Egypt. There is no sign of a large group of people dwelling in one spot in the desert for 38 years. None. No burial grounds, no animal bones. No pots and pans. Nothing. |
