http://www.mediaed.orgBig Bucks, Big Pharma pulls back the curtain on the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical industry to expose the insidious ways that illness is used, manipulated, and in some instances created, for capital gain. Focusing on the industry's marketing practices, media scholars and health professionals help viewers understand the ways in which direct-to-consumer (DTC) pharmaceutical advertising glamorizes and normalizes the use of prescription medication, and works in tandem with promotion to doctors. Combined, these industry practices shape how both patients and doctors understand and relate to disease and treatment. Ultimately, Big Bucks, Big Pharma challenges us to ask important questions about the consequences of relying on a for-profit industry for our health and well-being. Featuring interviews with Dr. Marcia Angell (Dept. of Social Medicine, Harvard Medical School; Former Editor New England Journal of Medicine), Dr. Bob Goodman (Columbia University Medical Center; Founder, No Free Lunch), Gene Carbona (Former Pharmaceutical Industry Insider and Current Executive Director of Sales, The Medical Letter), Katharine Greider (Journalist; Author, The Big Fix: How the Pharmaceutical Industry Rips Off American Consumers,), Dr. Elizabeth Preston (Dept. of Communication, Westfield State College), and Dr. Larry Sasich (Public Citizen Health Research Group).

people are so gullible in society today.they beleive everything their told.they can't seem to use their own common sense.

Yes you are right! I have been learning about natural herbs for two years now, and you would be surprised how well they work, and how inexpensive they are! Also, they do no harm! I set up one room in my home as an Apothecary, and have jars filled with different herbs! Instead of aspirin, I use White Willow Bark power, and capsule it myself! Check out the history of the Bayer Co sometime; I wouldnt give those murdering bastards a penny of my money!

there's no money in healthy people.big pharma wants people to remain sick.they've turned everyday common ailments into diseases and started pushing their toxic drugs on people.

Pharmaceuticals and pharmacy come from the Greek word "pharmakeia" which means "sorcery" or "witchcraft".The staff with the wings and snakes is a Babylonian symbol called the "caduceus", it represents commerce (see also Mercury/merchant/Merck).

MERCK kept Vioxx on the market despite having evidence that the largely profitable arthitic drug posed major heart attack risks, This is public knowledge! So one must be a wise consumer too when taking drugs, look at a drug manual and out weigh the side effects.
